Role

A short-range air-defence gun/missile system designed to cover motorised rifle and tank units against low-flying aerial targets — aircraft, attack helicopters, cruise missiles and UAVs — out to 8 km and up to 3.5 km altitude. Uniquely combines two 30 mm twin automatic 2A38M cannons and eight 9M311 surface-to-air missiles in a single turret, allowing continuous engagement across the overlapping missile and gun envelopes. Search is provided by the 1RL144 radar, tracking by the 1RL144M, and missiles are radio-command guided over the tracking link. The GM-352M chassis (Minsk Tractor Plant) is tracked with hydropneumatic suspension.
