Role
An engineer variant of the U.S. Marine Corps amphibious armoured personnel carrier AAVP-7A1, fitted with the M58 MICLIC (Mine Clearing Line Charge) system. The complex is designed to breach minefields on the shore immediately after an amphibious landing: a rocket pulls out a 100 m line charge of C-4 whose detonation initiates mines across a corridor up to 14 m wide. The vehicle retains its amphibious capability and can launch from the well-deck of a landing ship. It is gradually being replaced in service by the ACV (Amphibious Combat Vehicle).
