Role

A self-propelled artillery gun combining howitzer, mortar, and anti-tank capabilities in a single turret mount — thanks to the 120 mm rifled gun-mortar 2A80-1, which can fire HE and rocket-assisted shells, several types of mortar bombs, and the laser-guided “Kitolov-2”. Built as a deep upgrade of the 2S1 “Gvozdika”: the amphibious MT-LB chassis and overall layout are retained, while the turret, gun, ammunition stowage, drives, and fire-control system (“Kapustnik-B”) are replaced — featuring a digital ballistic computer, commander’s thermal sight, and an automated “fire on the move” mode. Adopted by the Russian Armed Forces in 2008; produced in a small series at Uraltransmash.
