Role

The battery senior officer reconnaissance-command vehicle, part of the 1V12 “Maketa” automated artillery fire-control complex. Built on the light amphibious multi-purpose MT-LBu tractor. Carries electro-optical reconnaissance equipment, a laser rangefinder, navigation gear, and communication suites; it gathers data from adjacent reconnaissance assets and passes target designation to firing positions. Remains in service with both towed and self-propelled artillery batteries.
